Quinta Essentia is Brazil’s premier recorder quartet. This is their third recording since forming ten years ago (previous discs are ‘La Marca’ in 2008 and ‘Falando Brasileiro’ in 2013), and only the second ever recording of J. S. Bach’s Art of Fugue on recorders (the first is from the Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet in 1998). Coleção Frans Brüggen   A flauta doce possui uma enorme família de instrumentos, variando tanto em tamanho quanto em "sub-famílias" ou períodos históricos. Geralmente as pessoas que conhecem um pouco do instrumento já conhecem as flautas soprano, contralto, tenor e baixo, facilmente encontradas em resina. Mas existem muitas outras flautas como podemos ver na foto acima, da coleção de instrumentos históricos do flautista Frans Brüggen, que foi maestro da Orquestra do Séc. XVIII e também professor de flauta doce e traverso do Conservatório Real de Haia, na Holanda.
